Our Vision

The Catholic Diocese of Christchurch is seeking to grow a community of disciples of Jesus Christ, striving to grow in holiness, supporting each other in community and on mission proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ.

Growing in Holiness RSZ

Growing in Holiness

To reach our God-given potential, we are called to become holy. Our Church communities help people to grow in holiness. If we fall in love with Jesus Christ and desire to become holy, we will have the conviction to tell others about it and share in the joy of knowing Jesus. Our parishes, schools, and organisations focus on helping people grow in holiness.

Strengthening our Catholic Community

Coming together as people of faith is an essential part of being a follower of Christ. The Church is made up of many communities who meet together to praise God, receive his grace and strength, especially through the Sacraments, and care for one another. We need strong faith communities if we are to survive and have a place to bring people who are searching.

Proclaiming RSZ

Proclaiming the Good News

This is the call to evangelisation. The call of Jesus is to spread his message to all peoples. This is part of our baptismal calling. We need to look at how we do this and how we can help people become more confident in this mission. Our Church is missionary and we need to spread the word of God, buy actions and by words.
