Holy Week, which for Christians is the most important week of the year, gives us the opportunity to enter more deeply in Jesus’s suffering, death and resurrection. We are invited to accompany Jesus in his last stage of his journey to Calvary. We are invited to enter the Upper Room, to remain at the foot of the Cross, to watch in spirit beside the dead Christ, and to wait with hope for the dawn of the radiant day of the Resurrection.

Here are three other ways that you can do to immerse yourselves in the central mystery of our Redemption.

1. Read the Gospel of Mark, the shortest Gospel, from start to finish in one or two sitting(s). It will take you about an hour to an hour and a half. This will give you a better sense of the life of Jesus.

2. Pray the Liturgy of the Hours. The Liturgy of the Hours is the official prayer of the Church. Join Ken Joblin at 6pm every day to pray the evening prayer of the Church. Ken has beautifully prepared the words of the prayer and the audio file for us to follow. https://chchcatholic.nz/spiritual-resources/

3. Read the daily Gospel and the reflections from MAGNIFICAT everyday. MAGNIFICAT is a spiritual guide to help you develop your prayer life. During this time MAGNIFICAT is offering free complimentary access to their online version. https://us.magnificat.net/free (Go for the UK/IRL edition)
