St Joseph the Worker Church, Lyttelton, the first Catholic Church for Christchurch was consecrated on the 29th of June 1865 and destroyed in the 2010/2011 earthquakes. The Church Community has continued and will be closing on Pentecost Sunday with a special Mass which will be celebrated on the site of the Church.
