CYT Events Coordinator

The Catholic Youth Team (CYT) invites applications for the full-time position of Events Coordinator.

CYT is a ministry to the young people of the Diocese and serves on behalf of the Bishop of Christchurch. CYT assists in sharing the Gospel with Young People through a joyful and inspiring ministry, journeying with them; preparing, teaching and empowering them for life as disciples of Jesus Christ.

The Role
The CYT Events Coordinator works collaboratively with the CYT manager, and other CYT staff and volunteers to plan, prepare and facilitate the fun, inspiring, high-quality CYT events that are open to young people from throughout the Diocese of Christchurch and New Zealand. These events include our major annual events, such as our Antioch Youth Camp and Revolution Youth Camp as well as other shorter events such as our Sports Day, Sports night, Worship nights, Youth masses and Youth Rallies. They would also support our Parishes with formation and resources to run local/city-wide events and assist, as time allows, with other major Catholic events for young people such as World Youth Day. Hours & wage rate
The role is full time and does require some occasional evening, overnight and weekend commitments. The wage rate will be negotiable depending on experience and qualifications.
To be successful in applying for this role the applicant should demonstrate:
• Experience in organising, promoting and coordinating major Youth and young adult Ministry Events
• Skills to manage communications, logistics, budgets
• Competency with team and volunteer formation and management
• An understanding and commitment to the Roman Catholic Faith
• A fun-loving person with a passion for working with young people and their families/whanau
• A current unrestricted driver’s license would be an advantage

Please note that because this is a public-facing ministry and as the role includes entry to schools, all staff must be vaccinated in accordance with Government requirements.
