John Pridmore – Gangland to Promiseland

John’s Background

Born in London, John started stealing at the age of 13, by 15 he was in a youth prison. After being released he found himself back in prison at the age of 19, with 23 hours a day spent in solitary confinement. John once released from prison, began bouncing around the east end and west end of London, being paid to fight. John hit a turning point outside a club one night when he thought he had nearly killed a man who had failed to pay a debt. From that night his life changed. After his conversion in 1992, he joined the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, and met St. Mother Theresa. They helped him to love again, and use his story to help others. He speaks to students everywhere about a life free from violence and drugs, where they can use their gifts to help each other.

John is in the Diocese of Christchurch during August and September 2019 speaking to parishes, schools and various other groups. There are lots of opportunities to see John and hear his amazing story. Check out below for all the different events.
